The Douglas Macmillan Hospice, near Stoke on Trent.
The Hospice is the only adult Hospice for the people of North Staffordshire and
surrounding villages. We were established in 1973 and have grown over the years
not only in size but also in the range and amount of care services available for
local people.
Our consultant led multi-disciplinary clinical team provide specialist
palliative care* for people facing cancer and other life-limiting illnesses; and
help and support for their families and carers.
We do not charge for the care and help we provide, we rely on voluntary
donations and some statutory funding to meet our running and development costs.
We have no association with any other organisation, even those national
charities who share a similar name. Our ability to meet the needs of the
community we serve is very dependent on the support of local people, groups,
businesses and organisations.
Our team of nurses, doctors, healthcare assistants, volunteers, chaplains,
social workers, therapists, and support staff care for all the needs of our
patients facing a terminal illness: physical, emotional, social and spiritual.
Together we aim to help patients both at home and in the Hospice to achieve the
very best quality of life, whatever their life expectancy, days, weeks or
months.

The Arthur Rank Hospice, Cambridge
Arthur Rank House is dedicated to providing specialist palliative care and support
to adult patients and their family, friends and carers.
All care is provided free of charge, and is offered to people living throughout
much of Cambridgeshire. The aim is to enable patients and those close to them to
live as fully as fully as possible, and make the most of the time that's left.
Originally an In-Patient Unit alone, we now provide a range of services including
Day Therapy and Outpatient clinics, counselling services and Hospice at Home nurses
in the community.
Specialist palliative care is the care given to patients, their families and carers
when the patients’ condition no longer responds to curative treatment. In this
situation, quality of life and the needs of the individual become the focus of care...
The Arthur Rank Hospice Charity works in partnership with the NHS to support patients,
their families, staff and volunteers at Arthur Rank House.
This year the Charity must raise over £1 million to meet our financial commitments
at the Hospice.
