Paul Allin, Director.
I started fishing many moons ago, I can still remember my parents saying DONT
get up at 4am and sneak off fishing down the canal before school, needless to
say that's exactly what I did, shot off with my rods, reel and maggots, aged 10,
jeepers, could kids do that nowadays? So as my angling life began and grew so
the natural progression into the world of carp angling began, I love being out
there when I can , the expectation of what's going to happen and when. When is
that alarm going to burst into life with a big old angry carp on the end, mmmm I
love it.
So why me and this here event, I lost my dear old mum a few years back to this
horrible disease called cancer, but in my mum's last few days she went into
Katharine House Hospice in Staffordshire. I thought this is going to be hell to
go through and I was not going to want to go and visit, how wrong was I? Every
last moment of my mum's life was made so much more peaceful by the people at the
hospice and to do it all purely with donations and fund raising and without any
government backing is an absolutely amazing. "This can't be right I thought, I
need to help in some way" and what better way to help out and raise cash but by
doing something you love for someone you love, "CARP-IN-4-CANCER WAS BORN", the
rest they say is history!! Help me to help everyone who at some point will come
into contact with this horrible disease..... cheers Paul

Brad Herrington, Director, web admin.
I first began fishing as a young boy, but a move to Canada stopped my course
fishing for many years, then as my 2 sons grew older they wanted to go fishing.
This meant all new equipment for them, it was when teaching the boys that my
love for the sport was rekindled. This progressed to carp fishing through
friends Adie Lawes and Gaz Evans. Bivvying up on the bank over night appealed to
me after growing up in the wilds of Canada. From then on I was hooked. So much
so that both boys have been to France with me and 2 more trips are planned for
2010. My involvement with the C4C came through Adie and his association with
Paul Allin, initially just a marshal. Once we started our own carp forum,
www.carp-in-on.com , I got "promoted" to Director and put in charge of the
web stuff. The charity has a closeness for me because of my father-in-law. I'm
sure all of us know someone who has been affected by this terrible illness, this
Charity Event enables me to help in some small way.
Thanks, Brad
